Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities This attorney will report to Operations Legal & Compliance Counsel, North Asia and will have responsibility for the following areas: ? Manage GeoMarket disputes and litigation, including negotiation, documentation and interface with suppliers, business partners, and government agencies; ? Assist to assess, appoint and manage outside counsels for high dollar complex disputes; ? Actively participate in collection of aged accounts receivables; ? Assistance to the Operations Legal & Compliance Counsel North Asia on other matters as required time to time; ? Together with other members of North Asia Geormarket Operations Legal team, review / negotiate / draft various agreements, including those related to vendors, agents, NDA’s, MOU’s (i.e. non-customer agreements), and assist HR on employment relationship cases and other employment matters/projects; ? Together with other Legal Groups, participate in managing notable issues relating to customer contracts, corporate administration, trade compliance/customs, tax and corporate compliance; ? Research and monitor laws and regulations that impact BHI operations; Apprise Operations Legal & Compliance Counsel North Asia on risks and exposures and make recommendations for internal communication and education; ? Educate, communicate and obtain buy-in counter-parties and operations staff on legal policies and processes Essential Qualifications/Requirements ? Law degree an accredited law school in China; ? PRC bar; ? Minimum five years legal experience either with a PRC judiciary body, international law firm or top tier PRC law firm or at in-house position with large-scaled SoEs; ? Superior legal drafting and negotiation skills in Chinese; Strong legal research and analytical ability; ability to manage PRC legal matters with minimum supervision; ? Ability to finalize English legal documents with minimum polishing; ? Up-to-date knowledge of general PRC laws; ? The ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments in a time pressured environment. Preferred Qualifications/Requirements ? Graduated a leading law school with excellent academic credentials; ? Candidates with experience on commercial dispute resolution, real estate or employment matters are preferred; ? Knowledge of or experience with oil & gas industry is a plus. ? Demonstrated ability to cope with stress and maintain a professional, pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers. Other Information ?
