However, as the unique drilling engineer position This company E&P Services China currently has in China, occasional assignment to other new projects in China concurrently with Xuancheng activities may happen. For those reporting will be directly to This company E&P Services China President. Job dimensions Within a team work context: 1) Provide the engineering support for the accomplishment of the drilling and/or completion and/or work-over operations, in compliance with company codes of practice, safety and environmental protection, all while optimizing costs and lead times 2) Ensure the suitability to operational requirements of engineering and reporting works and tools, 3) Contribute to the performances of E&P wells operations, through a continual search for the improvement of engineering and reporting 4) Adjustments to be found in the application of above to deal with specific “non-operated” project in a Chinese business environment. Activities 1) Ensure operations are conducted with respect of HSE procedures 2) Participate to operations program preparation 3) Follow-up drilling rigs performances and propose steps for performance improvement 4) Participate to the process of producing technical and operational reports, 5) Build knowledge about drilling related contracts for contractual, technical and commercial matters 6) Cost control and costs follow-up for drilling related services 7) Ensure efficient relationship with services providers, ensure equipment, studies, services are delivered on time 8) Liaise with other entities of the Xuancheng joint study team (THIS COMPANY and SINOPEC, Geosciences, Production, Logistics) and obtain information or services needed for rig(s) operations 9) Organize and maintain adequate filing in drilling – operations dossiers 10) Participate and attend to well pre-spud meetings organized on field 11) Develop own drilling experience by drilling site visits and “positive” relationship with operational personnel 12) Propose technological innovations. Follow and may take part in R&D projects 13) Contribute to improving skills and know-how, including possibly coaching / mentoring of a young “junior engineer” 14) Adjustments to be found in the application of above to deal with specific “non-operated” project in a Chinese business environment. Content and environment The Xuancheng project is the first shale gas exploration for This company in China. This company acting as technical advisor. It is important that all operations follow the highest standards of the profession. 1) Good relationship needed with other entities of the joint study team & with Contractors. 2) Very firm commitment on the HSE aspects of plans, program, procedures (with limitations due to non-operator role) 3) Assignment in Nanjing with mission trips to the site Accountabilities The position is in response to THIS COMPANY growth strategy in China and deeper involvement in new projects, in particular (but not exclusively) gas field’s onshore China. The job however will be performed with extensive collaboration / team work with the existing local staff, various THIS COMPANY HQ teams and the local operator in or out of our offices in Nanjing as well as with relevant contractors. Qualifications/Experience required 1) BsC above Degree in specialty of Engineering a minimum 2) Minimum 10 years of working experience 3) Excellent command of English communication skills (both written & oral). 4) Working experience with an international Contractor/Energy Company is a plus.
