Extensive experience in reservoir engineering and simulation with mature oil fields and tight oil fields. Able to work with and lead national subsurface staff in developing project plans and monitor execution. 2. Experience with high activity assets including infill redevelopments and expansion projects are essential. (Critical) 3. Proficient in development CPDEP to support the decision making process in new Bohai redevelopment projects. Familiar with Chevron reserve booking process to support Beijing office in annual reserve activity. Able to work without large CVX technical support on daily tasks. (Critical) 4. Soft Skills: The JV OpCo has a talented but inexperienced workforce so mentoring and technology transfer is very important in this position. Successful candidate is expected to work in a multi-discipline, multi-cultural environment and be willing to mentor young engineers to develop their technical capability. Willingness to document project results and publish technical papers. 5. Experience with tight oil and fracture simulation and completions. POSITION DETAILS: 1. This person will be seconded into the QHD-BZ Operating Company located in Tanggu, China where the China National Offshore Oil Company, CNOOC, is the operator. Chevron owns working interests in three producing fields in Bohai Bay, which are heavy oil reservoirs under water flood. Opportunities can be realized through infill drilling and potentially chemical EOR. Chevron currently has 5 expats and 4 nationals seconded in the NOJV OpCo organization. Our secondees have significant influence with the national technical staff and OpCo management. 2. Candidate will work in a multicultural, multi lingual enviroment where all assets are partner operated. Misalignments between partners at times requires a significant level of maturity and diplomacy to facilitate resolution of issues. Candidate will be expected to work on their own with partners at times to resolve technical and possibly other issues. 3. The main task for this position is to support and liaise with the OpCo to ensure reliable reservoir simulation models built and maintained and reliable production forecasts are generated for infill drilling projects. 4. This position will also be required to provide support to the infill drilling projects and overall redevelopment plans and waterflood expansions and tight oil developments at various CPDEP Phases.
